* have been working on developing a workflow-tool tutorial template that facilitates GRASS learners who tend to 'jump in' or have a 'choose your own adventure' approach to learning GRASS (i.e., want to use their data for their study area for their objective from the start).  The structure of the tutorial template is a concise, basic, general description/instructions of the workflow with optional links to pertinent explanatory/deeper dive content  (e.g.,  plain language explainers of the tool, options, defaults, etc.) in a variety of formats (e.g., captioned images, short tool demo videos (30 sec to 2 min)) in addition to the more comprehensive resources available (e.g. documentation, examples, tutorials).  The main motivation for this approach is to help new and occasional GRASS users avoid some of the common pitfalls and to learn how to find workarounds for some of the unanticipated challenges they may encounter with their specific datasets or use cases so that they can learn as they go.  Another motivation for this approach is to facilitate the translation, extension, and updating of workflow tutorials by the community over time (e.g., providing audio and closed captioning for one of the tool-demo videos in another language, replacing an outdated GUI demo with one for the current release, or incorporating a new add-on as an option in the workflow).&lt;br /&gt;

[https://eodag.readthedocs.io/en/stable/ EODAG] is a Python library useful to download several satellite datasets from different providers (i.e., USGS, Copernicus, AWS, Planetary Computer, etc.). GRASS has various modules to download satellite data like i.sentinel.download, i.landsat.download, i.modis.download. However, they all use different libraries, some of them no longer maintained. Hence, implementing the use of EODAG as back-end for those tools would be very useful not only in terms of maintenance but also in terms of less code repetition. It would also open the possibility for new tools or a master tool to download other datasets directly from GRASS. &lt;br /&gt;

::This project aims to parallelize geospatial tools/algorithms to enhance our abilities to utilize and analyze large-scale geospatial and remote sensing data. Although many geographic information system (GIS) tools are widely used, they haven’t been parallelized yet. The serial computation, while functional for modest datasets, significantly restricts the processing time and scalability necessary for handling increasingly larger geospatial datasets. Leveraging the potential of modern computing hardware, we can parallelize tools to mitigate these limitations. Several tools could benefit from parallelization, such as r.texture, r.horizon, r.fill.stats, r/v.surf.idw, r.viewshed, v.to.rast, r.to.vect, r.grow.distance, etc. These tools can be speeded up by parallelization with OpenMP and MPI. Moreover, CUDA can be used for these tools to compute raster and image processing on GPU.&lt;br /&gt;
