: HB replies: GIS is of major use in the field of public health research (specifically epidemiology). I have noted at past general GIS issues conferences that there is often a well attended public health session. This crowd is especially unexposed to FOSS alternatives, some sort of GRASS peer resource for them could be useful. Especially for the cash-strapped non-profits current forking out donated dollars to pay for software licenses. | |||

- HB replies: GIS is of major use in the field of public health research (specifically epidemiology).
