Landscape ecology is the science of studying and improving the relationship between spatial pattern and ecological processes on a multitude of landscape scales and organizational levels (see wikipedia:Landscape_ecology).

GRASS supports a series of analysis to analyse fragmentation, patch relationships and more.

Two sets of commands are available:

  • r.le.setup - Quantitative analysis of landscape structures
  • r.li - Landscape structure analysis package (parallelized code)
