A group of people contributing or interested in contributing to GRASS GIS met at the end of 2015 in Raleigh, NC and decided to meet regularly in the following months. This is a page to organize meetings and record what was done or discussed during them

February 20

  • place: Hunt library (see below)
  • room: 4502 The Fishbowl (note that the elevator from the 1st floor will take you just to the 2nd floor, use the stairs if you can)

  • room: 3208 (Large Group Study Room; close to the Game Lab and the wide yellow stairs; note that the elevator from the 1st floor will take you just to the 2nd floor, use the stairs if you can)
  • food: your own supplies, Common Grounds Café at Hunt (closes at 5pm), On The Oval (closes at 8pm)

    • starting with Python API and running scripts in command line on Linux
    • Compiling on MacOSX (ended up using brew because of problems with separately installed GDAL)
    • debugging missing APPDATA on MS Windows, improved in r67709
    • automated testing with Python and generating artificial data, e.g. r.mapcalc "plane = row()" or r.mapcalc "surface = sin(2)"
    • discussing some GRASS concepts and more
